There are many reasons throughout the year to celebrate: birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, births, promotions, graduations, new jobs, etc. Yet there are reasons to celebrate each day. Everyday is a gift! Are you paying attention to the ways you can celebrate each new day?
Let’s not remain so focused on our To-Do List and what we need to get done that we lose focus on creating special memories. Life can be a beautiful ride.
It’s June 1. Today I celebrate 11 years employed as an executive assistant with the City of Rancho Cordova! I am thrilled to celebrate this work anniversary. Do you celebrate your work anniversary? The last 11 years have been an incredible journey filled with personal and professional growth, new friendships, and new opportunities. My work anniversary offers me the opportunity to celebrate today. I’m thankful to the three individuals who offered me my position back in May 2004—Lillian, Anna, and Ted.
Today is also my grandmother’s birthday. If she were still alive today, she would be 103 years old. She passed away in 1993 when I was a young adult. I appreciate the memories of the special woman my grandmother was and cherish the 20 years I was able to spend with her.
Look at your life. What can you celebrate today? Tomorrow? Who can you acknowledge this week in hopes of making their day special? I believe it’s important to put people first and sometimes that includes YOU!
Who in your workplace is celebrating a birthday, work anniversary, or graduation that you can personally acknowledge? What have you achieved that can be celebrated? Life is too short. I believe with each new day we should seek reasons to celebrate—BIG and small.
Why should we trudge through the days, weeks, and months waiting for reasons to celebrate? Make each day count.
I’m just as excited for Mondays as I am for Fridays or Saturdays. Why? I like to work. I have good friends at work. I enjoy my career. Each day of the week offers us the opportunity to acknowledge others, celebrate accomplishments, and much more.
I have no idea who created this list, but June offers many reasons to celebrate. Oprah Winfrey said, “The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.” I believe in her words of wisdom. Seek a reason to celebrate today and everyday! Life is a beautiful ride.
