Today’s working professional needs to embrace technology not run from it. One of the greatest challenges faced by administrative professionals in today’s workplace is their capacity to accept and adapt to the advances in technology.
Apps have become one of my new best time-saving technology tools. What is an app anyway? By definition an app (shortened to refer to the word application) is a computer program that will run on a smartphone, tablet, or other mobile device. Apps are available for download on the device (often times for free) typically through the owner of the mobile operating system (e.g. Apple App Store, Google Play, etc.).
With the rising popularity of individuals downloading apps, the world is seeing a shift toward an increase in mobile computing. Mobile apps can be a huge timesaver for working professionals. Because of my work demands I need to save minutes whenever I can.
If you haven’t used some of my favorite free app picks to increase your productivity, give these a try:
CamCard – This app allows users to scan business cards into your Contacts with the snap of a photo.
Genius Scan – Allows users to take a photo of a document and turn it into a JPEG or PDF file.
Google Translate – Languages are at your fingertips with Google Translate. Translate over 100 languages by typing or talking to your device.
SleepBot – Sleep increases productivity! This app helps users to track sleep patterns including motion and sound.
Waze – Save time by getting road alerts and the quickest road route when driving to your next destination.
Take the time today to download these gotta-have it, easy-to-use apps. They are free! Not only will you be amazed at how easy they are to use, you will wish you had downloaded them sooner.
What are some of your favorite apps?
These are great, Stacey, especially Waze! I am a big fan of;
Best Parking – Find free and garage parking in any city at a discount! Even applies to Canada.
Thanks Bonnie for the comment and the tip!
I’ll be looking into Waze as I’m traveling a lot these days and can always use road updates!
Thanks for the CamCard tip. Genius!
As always, very helpful, Stacy. I, too, will try the Waze and maybe the Genius Scan. You’re a genius for putting this together for us! Thanks.
Great Apps!! Thank you Stacy! I started using the CamCard and love it, it’s so great that you can share and trade business cards this way. I can share that I have used Waze for a couple months and really like it as well.
